Afternoon Tea with a View

When we left Resipole it was with the intention of visiting the Westernmost point of Scotland but we soon decided not to bother with the side trip. We headed instead for our intended night spot, where we planned to wild in a car park by the side of Loch Moidart that affords access to Castle Tioram. The spot is a good two miles down a single track road off the main road and there is a long forest walk.

It surprised us to find what a busy little spot it was. Cars were coming and going all the time. Worse though was the fact that a campervan and motorhome were already there and looked as though they were parked up for life, with wetsuits hanging from trees and personal effects scattered all over. The scene we met was one of those that gives we motorhomers such a bad rep.

The car park is sized for approximately 8 cars and we felt it would be unfriendly of us to add to the encampment there. We had a walk, took a look at the castle then drove off to find somewhere under less pressure.

We ended up in a car park at the side of the main road but it was quiet enough and it had a stunning view.
