Apple blossom

Didn't have a lie in or get up exactly on time today - a sort of half and half morning. After breakfast I did more of my French homework - now mostly complete.

After lunch we walked over to our orchard to do some weeding. The trees were looking good, the Eregmont Russet apple tree was plastered in blossom, the Worcester Pearmain and Cox's Orange pippin were also starting to wake up and the Orleans Reinette and Ashmead's Kernel were just about to wake up. Of the plums the damson had pretty much finished flowering and the Victoria plum was in full leaf but no sign of blossom at all.

Today's blossom are all from the apples, the damson having finished already. If I can control the bitter pit this year then it looks like we may get a good harvest from them this year.
