Personal Service

I was walking the dog this morning, about a mile or so from home. The post van stopped as it passed me. The postman, who I know by sight only, leaned out -

"Will you be in later on? I've got something you need to sign for."

I said I would be, and thanked him. When I got back to the village, I met him again, by the Village Green. He hadn't done our street yet, but he said "Hang on, I 'll get it for you now", opened the back of his van and gave me the parcel (camera widget ebayed from Hong Kong), and then dug through his bundles to extract the rest of our post.

You don't get that sort of service living in the city!
