Strange vegetables and other ingredients

Had the 42s round for dinner.

Yesterday we were given a bag of Jerusalem Artichokes by a neighbour. I have never cooked one before, but a quick google turned up a great recipe. They are pretty ugly beasts, but together with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's roast lamb with anchovies (much better than it sounds), followed by Nigel Slater's moist plum cake (which works well with wheat-free flour) they made a great Sunday dinner.
