Election fever

2017 was, not long ago, going to be an election free year for districts in Greater Manchester.

Then the devolution agreement meant that we would have an elected Mayor for the area, responsible for particular functions devolved from central government to GM. The election for the first GM Mayor takes place on the 4th May.

And now we have a general election on the 8th June.

Is it just me, or does the description by sections of the press as a saboteur, of anyone who disagrees with the government's supposed approach on Brexit, seem totally un-British, and just a shade totalitarian in tone
