Lines and wires

One of the things I wasn't expecting in St Petersburg was the amount of traffic. And the speed at which it goes along the Nevsky Prospekt. Like a motorway going up the main shopping street. And then all the overhead wires! This shot was taken from the park at one side of the Hermitage museum looking across the Trotsky Bridge across the Neva. A beautiful day today, but still cold.

Down to the Wire

Trolley buses and lighting rely on the wires.
The cars charge past with a scream of tyres.
The bridge crosses the Neva
Disappearing in the distance
With a proliferation of street furniture
Ancient and Modern
The roar and the glory.
