Fly Agaric

I dont often see this fungi around here so was delighted to see this one. They are the toadstool of children's books and stories and always seem to have a bit of magic around them.

The scientific name is Amanita muscaria. Eaten normally, it is toxic and hallucinatory, but it can be eaten safely with special handling.
