Life through the lens...

Our Walk

Fourteen of us set off on our walk from Heath Common, near Wakefield, to Stanley Ferry and back.
We were quite pleased with the turnout, and only one person had difficulty finding the village, as it is not very well signposted.
Quite a hidden gem.
The weather has been glorious. Not at all what we expected.
Plenty of people out enjoying themselves, including several fishermen along the canal, who were taking part in a competition.
As well as blue bells there were lots of cowslips. I don't think I have seen so many before.
The trees are now looking lovely in their new spring greens.
What a beautiful time of year this is.
Finished off with drinks at the pub. A perfect end to a very enjoyable 6 mile walk.  ( see map)

Thank you all for the hearts and stars for yesterday's village cherry blossom. I expect in a few days it will all be over for another year, but is is beautiful while it lasts.
