The Score 'Box'

Sometimes it's necessary to improvise.

Headed over to Skipton to watch Forrest play the first match of the new season, taking a few layers but never needing them. The sun appeared after lunch and pretty much stayed out for the entire game. I need to get a cap and some sunglasses if it's going to make a habit of doing that. These early games in April are often purgatory but this one was a pleasure, both in terms of the weather and the cricket. Although Ben Rhydding lost, Forrest himself scored a watchful 34, helping to get the team out of a hole, and also bowled a few tight overs, albeit without getting a wicket. Following a 60 not out in a friendly last weekend I think I can say that he's scored more runs already this season than in the whole of last. A new job, time for training, and a bit of confidence has made all the difference in the world.
