The accidental finding

The band was called...

..the Pussy Rustlers! They must have their reasons.

This was the scene at my friend D's house in a hamlet near Cam, near Dursley. The occasion was her partner Dave's 60th birthday party. Dave plays saxophone, so he played a few numbers too.

Food, drink, sunshine, friends and hillbilly bluegrass music, all on a Sunday afternoon ! Bliss! I first visited D's house last year, in February, and at that time it was a shell. The floors upstairs needed replacing, but so did everything else. I remember a bedroom with a pink carpet, and a shower unit in the corner. The kitchen cabinets were 1970s yellow. The area outside the house was a sea of mud...

Guess what? Fourteen months on, the house is finished, and D's first granddaughter is a toddler, being looked after by D three whole days a week! How does she do it?  I may have blipped her previous house too. She's a property developer, I guess, but this house is a keeper. With a view out over the hills, and only a handful of neighbours, it's a blissful backwater of a location.

The band played two sets. They were most entertaining.  I led the dancing with D's grand daughter, who has some great moves for a thirteen-monther.   The guy at the end on the left is playing a tea-chest bass, in case you are wondering.

I was particularly proud of being able to rustle up an orange. almond and polenta cake at short notice, to bring to the party. Usually, I plan, write lists, shop...

Oh, and just saying re. Line of Duty. Why didn't DI Roz Huntley consult an aromatherapist about that nasty inflammation on her wrist, that was getting more and more evil looking every week? She could've saved her life, her hand and her bacon, without having had to go to a doctor (because, you see,  she had something to hide). Aromatherapy is not just for hippies! There is documented evidence that several essential oils, including oregano and tea tree, are effective against Staph and MRSA infections.
You might just have heard it here first. https://www.staph-infection-resources.com/treatment/alternative/essential-oils/
