Sunset from the terrace, Jumeirah Beach

The eagle eyed will quickly spot the obvious: you cannot see the setting sun!  Our hotel offered sunset views from the terrace bar and restaurant, which sadly are no longer viewable due to the huge new construction taking place opposite.  Aside from these large buildings, they appear to be building a 'Dubai Eye' which is only partially constructed.  The amount of new development here is astounding and one wonders where it will end.

We visited the Dubai Mall today, which was quite an experience.  I don't think that any of our UK malls can compare.  The prices are better too!  We had lunch opposite the Dubai fountains which are at the foot of the Burj Khalifa.  We have purchased tickets to go up to the observation deck tomorrow.  This time on the 124th floor:  this is certainly the holiday for tall buildings!
