ANZAC Day

It was a lovely start to the day with sunshine but that did not last long. For the most of the day the clouds would roll in and then away again.. it seem to do that all day long. The sky's are clear now the sun has gone to bed for the night.

Today is ANZAC Day and the 1600 white crosses here in Cranmer Square, each representing a soldier from Canterbury who had died at this point 100 years ago. A number which will swell for next year's service.

It is 100 years today since New Zealanders and Australians gathered together for the first time to honour their loved ones who had perished at Gallipoli the year before.
