new toy

I had a meeting with one of our researchers who proudly showed me their new instrument platform. The UAV can carry up to 6kg payload for about 30min flight time. The gimbal is remote controlled using an ipad which also provides a live view from the camera. On paper they will get a pixel size of 5mm at a height of 50m. Pretty cool stuff. They haven't yet flown it and are waiting for a less windy day.
