We've an extensive population of mining bees in our garden living in the front lawn and we see a lot of them at this time of year because they like the fruit trees which flower right now. 

This is an ashy mining bee ploutering in a dandelion which looks sunnier than it was with temperatures plummeting to absolutely icy with snow in Waitrose carpark this afternoon and me in shorts! Am now back in my thermals!!
