Consumerism

Millions of people… There are 15 million people living in my hometown, Istanbul. Everyday there is a never-ending traffic, a queues in almost every where and a huge amount of consuming. There are also things we don’t have here, for example we don’t have oxygen in public buses, or we don’t have proper trees, at least not much of them. Lately we stopped to have manners and be polite. Now we don’t obey the rules, which we created. We are throwing bottles to the seas, killing animals and cutting the remaining trees.

We are consuming.

But not only money or time or food is what we consume. We consume the life of animals which are not created to expand our life spans. We consume their furs to keep us warm and destroying their habitats to keep us warmer. We consume their lives to have tests. We consume their tails to create brushes. We consume their bones to create glue. We consume them…

Not knowing that this may be the end of us.
