It seems we are experiencing suffering the same weather conditions here in S. Lincolnshire as those over the northern border - namely in the Cailleach region of Bonnie Scotland -  I took this photo (showing hailstones falling and settling) at 11.30am from the front door, now, at 12 noon, the sun is out and there are big patches of blue sky - bl**dy cold and breezy though!
