Not Flower Friday

Chris and Jean came round for a cup of tea and chat this morning. After lunch Ann and I went to the Maybird shopping centre for a couple of things, including a new cap for me (which is lucky as lost my old one this evening!).

Later we went to the Artshouse to see Gary Yonge, journalist and author, currently a columnist for The Guardian. He was talking on his latest book, "Another Day in the Death of America", a book about gun control, and lack of it, in which on a random day he picked, ten American children and teenages were killed by guns in a twenty four hour time span, a common occurance where on average seven children and/or teenagers are killed by guns every day.

The picture is an Iris Versicolor, or Blue Flag, growing in our front garden.
