Sill Saturday: Synchronised Stepping

Thank you to Admirer for hosting this fun challenge.

My entry this week is from Slimbridge where we tried (unsuccessfully) again to see the kingfisher.  We did see these goslings all huddled up as it was a chilly wind.  Then a canoe arrived and they took off across the water and then did some synchronised stepping when they got out.  I couldn't leave the Andean flamingo and otter out.

Then sadly as we were watching the ducks at the canoe safari the heron came swopping in.  He landed amongst the ducks and before anyone knew it came out with what I thought at first was a fish.  This is not a happy tale, so stop here or don't look at my extra if you might be upset.

It was actually a duckling, and you can see the Mum trying to save it.  Less than a minute later he emerged again looking for more.  These are not the sharpest photos but it was all very quick and unexpected.  Very sad, but nature is cruel.
