Penalty!

The last home game of the regular season and Falkirk played host to Queen of the South in the SPFL Championship. The Bairns were sitting in second place in the league, knowing that a good result today and again next week would give them a slight advantage in the play-off fixtures.

Despite Falkirk's dominance in the first half, it ended with the scores even. However, the Bairns were awarded a penalty in the second half with which Aaron Muirhead scored, sending the Queen's goalkeeper the wrong way, putting the home side 2-1 in the lead and providing me with my blip for the day.

Queen of the South equalised soon after and the game finished as a 2-2 draw. Thankfully, results elsewhere left Falkirk still in 'pole position' for a favourable play-off draw. On to Dumbarton next Saturday - and more blip opportunities!

(There was a good attendance at the match, it's just that the goal was scored in front of the stand housing the few 'away' fans who had made the journey up from Dumfries.)
