Shakespeare, anyone?

Getting up late for the second Saturday running - how delicious! The rest of the day was pretty lazy too, but somehow even so I didn't manage to catch up on more lost sleep in the afternoon. By the time I'd decided what to wear for our Shakespeare performance it was almost time to set off for the show. I didn't think a lecture on Shakespeare, even interspersed with dramatized readings and the chance to hear his dear wife deliver the narration, would be HH's cup of tea, so he stayed home. To be honest, those of us on stage weren't too impressed by the lecture part either and noticed at least three of the audience had dropped off, but we felt our bit went well.

Moving on later to a bar to unwind, I called to see if HH would join us, but he was already heading for bed. Sensible chap. It was nearly 3 a.m. before we eventually headed for home, but I now have another adoptive daughter (head of drama at the British School, newly arrived in Rio and with no family here) and some lovely new friends. Hopefully they'll help us get some amdram going here again soon - maybe starting with an old-time Music Hall.

The photo is a bit of a cheat, I've changed the date because although it was taken at 2.52 am on Sunday morning, it definitely belongs to Saturday.
