Great spotted woodpecker

Yesterday I spent a day at Telford attempting to learn how to process RAW files as my photographer friends keep nagging me to do. I'd already failed to understand this when I tried the beginners course at the local college but was lost immediately (technology is not my forte). This class was more successful as the teaching was better and there were many less pupils in the group.

On the way back I called at Venus Pool Nature Reserve where I took this GSW (in the rain) before the sparrowhawk swooped over and scattered the birds. There was someone that I knew in one of the hides so we had a good chat.

The photo is my attempt at editing in RAW but it's no better than the JPEG that I also took. I'll see how it goes!
