Bluebells in the morning light

Up at 5.30 am to do my fourth bird transect of the year at Thorpe Wood. The advantage of being in the wood shortly after 6 is that there's much less traffic noise which makes it easier to pick out the different birds. Long-tailed tits were gathering moss for their nests and many of the blue and great tits were busy gathering food for their chicks.

The bluebells are at their peak just now, but as I've photographed them so many times before I decided to try something a bit different, so experimented with some in-camera movement. Most attempts failed, but I kept a handful and felt this and my extra captured some of the joy of a spring woodland early on a sunny morning.
