Underbarrow Scar

We have had an excellent long weekend on the edge of the lake district - based at the top end of the Lyth Valley.

We returned late morning, stopping off en route at Underbarrow Scar - also known as Scout Scar, and close to Kendal. Excellent views from the ridge, even on a hazy day like today.

I decided to have a  go at the Mono Monday challenge, sticking to F8 aperture. This is the nearest I got to "street photography". Lots of people were walking their dogs, which came in all shapes and sizes.

The extra I quite like. Along the ridge there were lots of small stunted ash trees. Bent by the wind (and it was windy today), they look as if they have some way to go before they even think about flowering, and then opening their leaf buds.
