Soon to Close

This bank is in the centre of Todmorden - by the junction of Halifax Road, Rochdale Road and Burnley Road - and faces Todmorden Town Hall.
It was built in 1859 and became the Yorkshire Penny Savings Bank.
In 1884 they had 955 branches( I, along with many other schoolchildren, lodged my 6d per week in their safe hands).
In 1959 it changed its name to The Yorkshire Bank.
In 1990 it was acquired by the National Australia Bank Group.
In 2016 it became part of  CYBG (Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank Group).
On May 17th 2017 this branch will close.
The letter announcing the closure and giving advice on where to bank offers Yorkshire Bank - Burnley as the best alternative.
Do they not realise Burnley is in Lancashire!
