A theme of our lives. Here, you might wonder whether McEwan Hall will be ready for graduations due to start in about 6-7 weeks time, or so. Well, I guess if it isn't ready, someone's going to be paying out on some monster penalty clauses.

Very long day - early start both for the workmen and also because I had to get across to Glasgow. Back to chair a lecture. I didn't weep when the speaker and his wife declined an invitation to dinner. Home to see the progress made, which is considerable, and the mess made, which is minimal (what a relief).
