Dia de la Cruz

Cross Day is an important celebration in Granada.

People make crosses with the most original things and a great variety of  home objects, pots, flowers, pottery, copper dishes, shawls, bedspread, are used to decorate the crosses.

Contests are organized and there are prizes for the best crosses.

People try to visit as many crosses as possible and they drink wine or beer in the bars near them and sing and dance 'sevillanas' .

I think that on this day people really celebrate the good weather and it is a perfect opportunity to spend the day in the street with friends and family!
