Robin

Around four weeks ago I scarified my lawn, removing a massive amount of moss and thatch. Ever since then, this robin and his mate have been constantly searching for, and removing, bugs, worms and leatherjackets. (They've also been making a right mess of my garden lamps which they use as a vantage point, but that's another story.). From what they seem to have eaten, I'll be surprised if I see many daddy-long-legs this year!

In other news, the starlings nesting in the roof space above my bedroom seem to have hatched their eggs. We are getting woken up now with bursts of excited squawking as the parents return with food, rather than the occasional patter of the parents feet.
