In Her Own Right

I've taken Mary's picture before standing outside Portobello Town Hall on polling duty. In fact she was my election blip last year. Today she was standing out there on her own behalf as she is standing for the local council. She, and we, won't know the result until Friday afternoon but because our multi-member ward will now elect a fourth councillor there is a fair chance she might make it. Fingers crossed as I'm sure she will be a real asset to the local community, building on the ton of work she already does in the area. Just the sort of person you want to be a councillor.
