Staircase House, Stockport

My back is getting better so I went into Stockport this afternoon.

It may not look that special from the outside, but like many old buildings this one has been extended and parts of it rebuilt many times.  But Staircase House is the oldest town house in Stockport with parts dating back to the 15th century and it is actually very interesting.  It is, however, one of those places where you really do need to do the audio tour.

The adjacent building is Stockport museum, on the right is the historic market hall and in the background is Saint Mary's Parish Church.

I also went to the Art Gallery to see Stockport Photographic Society's annual exhibition.  Well worth a visit and, as usual, some of the photos have given me some ideas.
