British Orienteering Championships

The British Orienteering Championships are taking place in south Lakeland and friend Puffin and family were all taking part. Puffin persuaded me to join her in a non-competitive class. The 1:10000 map is initially difficult to interpret as the level of detail is far greater than the 1:25000 OS maps I am very familiar with. It proved to be a very enjoyable few hours and we made it around the course finding all the control points. Our time wasn't fast as we walked rather than ran over the difficult terrain. The blip is a behind the scenes shot of all the club tents.
