The Attic Window

Yesterday Jan posted a "What's outside my window?" picture so today I decided on a different window, in a different house, showing a different view to complement her picture. Jan wrote about the village so I'll take our own property.
We have three houses on our plot. A small one we live in; a slightly smaller one our visitors stay in (the Red House) and Betty's, the smallest one. In the countryside here it's normal to have several buildings on your plot, a sort of homestead. In part I think it's because in traditional wooden houses one of the greatest dangers is fire. So buildings that were a special risk, like the bakery or the sauna were always separate from the main house, and if the main house burned down in the winter it was good to have a spare building to retreat to!
This picture is taken in and from the attic at Betty's. It's the upstairs window in this photo of Betty's, taken last summer. Today's blip is as much a picture of the attic window, as it is of the view, which shows the forest trees, starting just beyond the garden.
