Moonlight Walk

Quite an outdoorsy day today. Firstly we spent a couple of hours sitting in the field at Thursley with around fifteen men and their long lenses, waiting for the cuckoo to put in an appearance. Sadly he wasn't hungry enough to bother while we were there although we could hear him somewhere behind us. A lot of the other guys there had come from Hertfordshire so the cuckoo is quite a celebrity. We did see a Dartford warbler though, which was a first for us.

After a relaxing afternoon Sarah and I went down to Chichester this evening to take part in the Moonlight Walk for St Wilfrid's hospice. Starting off at 10pm we walked the ten mile route round the city in three hours (excluding pit stops). There were a lot of other walkers and I think I heard them say they were hoping to raise £75,000. Living in what feels like very selfish times, it's heartening to see how many are willing to do this sort of thing.
