Knights and Swifts

More practice today ahead of Tuesday's parade.  This is a combination of the 2 Russian Air Force aerobatic teams, the Knights (Витязи) and the Swifts (Стрижи), in formation over Red Square.  The blue planes is the Sukhoi Su-30SM and the red one, the MiG-29.

The extras include St Basil's Cathedral: good fortune for the photographers who get to go up on on that red telescope; the gun salute, always with WWII-era cannons; this year there is participation by a detachment serving in Syria - hence the khaki uniforms.
