Quod oculus meus videt

Four in Hand

When we saw the weather was set fair, we headed out to Catton Hall in Derbyshire to see the climax of the British Carriage Driving Championships.  Much like three-day eventing they have a dressage, cross country/obstacle and arena events.  It would be preposterous to think that the carriages could be jumped, so instead they have to manoeuvre through a series of gates, marked by cones with balls on top.

I took over a 1,000 images so had to seek help to whittle them down to a final selection.  My wife loves horses, so it is no surprise that the images chosen show these magnificent animals off.  I did get to choose the odd image; I like to see the reaction of the drivers to the competition.
