Swarm of Honey Bees

I worked during the morning and after lunch some members of our family visited.

Today’s picture is of the swarm of Honey Bees that my husband blipped yesterday. This one is included to record the difference between a swarm in the making and one that has clustered together correctly to keep the Queen warm. As you can see there are none flying around, although the Scout bees will go out again until they find a new home. So that the outer bees do not get cold, the bees nearest the Queen move to the outside and they continue to rotate until they fly off to a new home.

The extra is not good, taken when it was almost too dark to get a picture. It shows a Rabbit and some Fallow Deer grazing together; I only saw five Fallow deer during the evening although the rest of them could be hidden by our trees.

This is a back blip and the Bees are still here Tuesday morning.
