Yet another stunning day of weather and the U3A Tuesday walking group embarked on a tour of the Howgills - definitely one of the most underrated walking areas with lovely grassy paths, great ridge walks and almost deserted. Setting off from Sedbergh we took a circuitous route skirting Winder and the Nab to Seat Knot. We then climbed to Bram Rigg Top, turned left to The Calf before retracing our steps along the ridge to Calders. On the way down we went via Arant Haw and Winder. A total of 9.5 miles and 3200 feet of ascent. The main blip shows part of the group admiring the 360 degree views from the top of Calf and the panorama in extras shows part of the route.
