Above And Beyond...

Elounda Walk

We met up with our friends in Elounda, Crete, who arrived the same day as us. After a cuppa in their villa we set off on a walk across to Elounda Island which is joined to the mainland by a causeway.

The blipfoto is taken of a restaurant table just before we crosed the causeway to the island for a five hour walk covering some 7 miles in a good 25C. After a few miles, Steve didn't want to retrace our path along the cliff to the last chuch and got us lost! I managed to navigate us out of some very ancient landscape back to the causeway.

It was so hot that we couldn't resist going for a swim in a lovely cove.  Steve and I only had our M&S microskin underpants (see blip extra) and Mrs BB couldn't resist taking a photo. (we met Steve and his wife in Mauritius in 2011 - Steve and I have the same birthday by coincidence)

About 5.30pm we stopped in a bar opposite where I took the main blipfoto and two pints of cold beer didn't touch the sides! The young lady who served us couldn't believe how far we'd walked.

An enjoyable day ended with us enjoying baguettes on our patio with the sun setting.
