Front and back pages

A few more from the old newspapers box dating back twenty-five years. The oldest is top right, from the day of Dundee United's UEFA Cup final second leg at Tannadice. I was there as the home team could only manage a 1-1 draw, leaving them the wrong end of a 1-2 aggregate score. The fans reception for the winning Gothenburg team on their lap of honour with the cup won the supporters the inaugural FIFA Fair Play Award. There's a couple of other United-related papers from 1994 when they won the Scottish Cup for the first time and returned to Dundee in triumph. (Note a very young looking Alex Salmond lower down that front page!) A quartet of deaths - two royal, one pop star and one politician - and a Scottish eclipse, complete this little set.
