Manor Mill Chadderton, 1st half-arsed attempt

Born and bread in Yorkshire. Now living in Lancashire, Oldham to be precise. I love where i came from and where i am now. Summat that both areas i lived in have in common are the mills.

In Lancashire it was cotton mills. The Chimney you can see on the photo belongs to Manor Mill.

Manor Mill, Chadderton is an early twentieth century, five storey cotton spinning mill. It was built in 1906. It was taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1930s and passed to Courtaulds in 1964. Production finished in 1990. At the peak of the mills 360 operated in Oldham.
Now a grade 2 listed building. The building is split, with multiple enterprisers operating from within.
To me it still holds a charm, a reminder, when viewed with the surrounding back to back houses of a time of great noise, commotion, dirt and wealth for a select few.

First attempt whilst on the way for diesel at capturing the mill.
