Lengthening Shadows

The longer days means I can take a shot like this on the way back from football, rather than on the way there. Once again we had uneven sides and I ended up on the team that was a man short. A little disappointed that the other lot failed to follow convention in such circumstances. It's usually the case that while any sort of goal will do for the team that's a player down, the other team should try to use their extra man in more constructive ways. We had just got back to within two goals, making use of a sweeper-keeper to reduce the numerical disadvantage, when they scored a goal from the halfway line - said sweeper-keeper being well off his line. Technically there was nothing wrong with it but it did rather kill the game knowing they would rather win at all costs rather than have a more even contest. We did score a few decent goals ourselves, through some quick passing, but the extra man keep them comfortably ahead.
