Foxhangers (Wednesday 10th May 2017)

Trying to learn more about the swan pair with the stolen eggs I stopped off at the bottom of the Caen Hill Lock flight and approached a CRT volunteer, but it turned out that I had more information than he had, though he confirmed that there were no swans with cygnets on the flight staircase, so the one I knew about must be near a boundary.

I returned to the lock at Foxhangers. The buttercups I'd photographed a couple of days earlier had been mown away, but there was still no sign of my prescription glasses so I have another hugely expensive pair being made up at the moment. There was lots of narrowboat activity on the canal, and this one at Foxhangers was shortly to navigate the staircase, a process that takes several hours.
