Cap de Formentor

Liz wasn't on top form this morning but, true to form, stuck on her determined head and rode out to the Cap de Formentor.

Seeing the photo of traffic piling up at the lighthouse on her trip last year and knowing my preference for peace and quiet, we set off at 8. In beautiful conditions, with the cloud breaking up, we had clear roads for much of the journey. It's a beautiful peninsula and surprisingly varied with tranquil pine forests, dramatic cliffs and colourful coastlines.

We had a quick drink at the lighthouse before retracing our wheels with only a couple of buses passing us en route.

We were home by midday so it's been feet up in the sun and shade all afternoon - I even dipped in the ice pool!

We've found a lovely little restaurant just behind the ones that don't really appeal and are now in bed starting to feel the cumulative lethargy of cycling every day with hills. Satisfying!
