Civic Square, Wellington, NZ

Civic Square marks the boundary between the financial district to the north and the entertainment district to the south. It has an iconic Neil Dawson sculpture, a 3.4 metre diameter sphere using the sculpted leaves of several ferns endemic to New Zealand, suspended 14 metres over its centre.

Civic Square is full of vibrance, a place where people sit or stroll, many sculptures and stories to be told as its the gateway to Wellington's waterfront.

Wellington is known to be windy but today it was a bit more than windy, gale force winds made for a rocky flight and descent, it was bitterly cold with rain following. However the city was buzzing with people everywhere no they weren't all here for Daughter A's 21st but for the rugby with our All Blacks playing Argentina, should be a good weekend ahead.

Another backblip - I'll do a link to the others in the next few days.
