A Day Worth Recording

Pangs of Gilt

A flower-arranging team from Lincolnshire is staying in the Coach House cottage - for a competitive display at the Spring Show, as representatives of quite a large swathe of England.

Simultaneously, but unknowingly to each other, the chair of the flower-arranging club had booked into the B&B.  No pressure then.

We were pleased (as clearly were they) when we found they'd been awarded Silver Gilt, which placed them second of the eight or so displays.  The challenge was 'Picnic in the Park'.

Somewhere in there are bits of the Dell House garden which was delicately raided (with our pleasure) yesterday.

We only got to see this because we'd volunteered for a stint of selling on the Perennial stand (formerly the Gardeners Benevolent Fund charity) in exchange for a pass for the afternoon.
