Bamboo(?)

Today is the last day of our trip to Crete. We woke to a very warm wind, apparently from Africa, giving us temperatures over 30° C even early in the morning. So we stayed near the hotel today, wandering down to the beach and swimming in the sea a couple of times, packing, reading, eating in the lovely Proimos restaurant in the early evening and trying to go bed early. (We have to get up at 02:30 to be ready for the bus at 03:00!
As we have wandered and driven along this coastal strip we have seen so much "bamboo", if it is bamboo. It's up to 6 meters tall and grows right up to the edge of the road. When the wind blows it rattles in a very distinctive way.
So, this spectacular plant seemed a suitable topic for my final Blip from Crete.
