Wood Anemone (Anemone nemorosa)

Today we had sun, warmth and blue sky. Working in the garden it was hot enough in the sun that jobs to be done in the shade were welcome!  Towards the end of the day I felt I needed to go for a walk and stretch out my whole body after spending a lot of the day bent over!
Walking through the forest I found this clearing filled with wood anemones. They look so lovely filling the forest floor before anything else has got started.
