Evora then road trip to Odeceixe - Day 2

Good night sleep then out for breakfast to the little Cafe across from the Ale Hop. Evora itself only has little proper shops like what we had before supermarkets came along and is a bustling town and also has a University so lots of youngsters. First stop was a wander down little cobbled streets to the Chapel of Bones which was quite in-nerving as it's full of skulls and bones (extras) with a sign on the door roughly translated meaning we are the bones her waiting for your's!! Can't remember the name of the vast church this was in but further along was a display of over 200 nativity scenes with some traditional but many the artists had used their imagination and created Some amazing creations. We thenwent out on the roof to a big terrace to view the town below and the far distant countryside beyond, towards Monsaraz where we stayed last year. They are having unseasonably hot weather - it was 28 today! Usually it's 23 at this time of year.

More wanders around the narrow streets then back to the Ale Hop to check out, some provisions bought for the two hour journey south to the bottom of the Alentejo back to Monte D Cardal where we stayed last year.

Had a couple of pit stops before arriving at Monte and met by the owner Clara. Our room this year is at the back overlooking the countryside. Very peaceful and quiet.

Out for a meal at Gabon where the waiter Miguel recognised us from last year. Home and sleeping by 9.30!
