Rhododendron Rubellum

The Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh .... well worth a visit at any time. There is always colour somewhere. This beautiful rhododendron, a native of New Guinea, is growing in one of the glasshouses. It was so humid in some of the glasshouses that our visit was fairly brief.

Before leaving the gardens we had a walk through the rock garden where I spotted the irises.

Weary legs and feet after walking more than 9 miles today on hard paths and pavements. We were well on our way to the station when L realised that she didn't have her walking pole. Fortunately we could work out where she left it so back we went to Jessops and there it was exactly where she put it while buying a wee cleaning gizmo. We felt that an ice cream was well earned!
