Lunch with a view

My final day teaching at Leeds - I must admit the novelty of getting up at 5am to commute north every day is beginning to wear off!

It was pouring with rain when I left Peterborough but dry when I reached Leeds, and the rain held off until we'd completed our fieldwork on Ilkley Moor. We sat on the scattered rocks near the Cow and Calf to eat our packed lunches, and this was the view towards the pub, complete with some students setting off early for end of course drinks!

Thanks to a slight change in the timetable I was able to catch an earlier train home than expected, reaching the front door about 5.30 pm, just over eleven hours after I set off. Unfortunately no lie in tomorrow as I have a bird transect to do!
