Wet, Wet, Wet

It rained today, it rained all day!  As we had an inkling that this may be the case we decided on a cunning plan.  Breaking out the waterproofs and umbrellas we went into Stratford for a coffee at Nero,  from there we went to Bella Italia for lunch, the rain kept most people away so we virtually had the place to ourselves.  The waitress, who now knows us as regular customers, had the chef rustle up vegetable pasta with lentils, even though it had been taken off the menu, and full size vegetarian calzone, also not on the menu.  All for a very reasonable price with our 50% off voucher.

The next part of the plan was to go round the corner to the Picture House on Windsor Street to see the film A Quiet Passion by Terence Davies, the story of the American poet Emily Dickinson who lived in the 19th century. Very moving.

Home then to watch some tennis from Rome, where the sun is shining!

The photo is a quick snap of a group of visitors sheltering by the library which I took whilst Ann popped into the Blue Cross shop.  I'm sure they would have been inside but it is currently closed for refurbishment.  The extra is the poster from the film.
